The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Contra Costa is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing outreach, education, support and advocacy to families and individuals in need of help dealing with mental illness. They have been assisting people and families affected by mental illness in Contra Costa for over 30 years. The Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) provides professional, same-day intervention for adults who are experiencing mental health crises.
Call if the behavior is escalating, but the person has not physically harmed or tried to harm anyone during this incident. For example:
Verbally threatening someone
Throwing objects or hitting furniture or walls
Threatening to run away
Could become a danger to themselves or others
If you aren’t sure what to do, call MCRT for advice.
8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Mon -Friday and Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Call 911 for incidents after those hours or on the weekend.
